This vehicle began life with Southern Electricity Board, and was originally a hard top with hydraulic winch. The original registration took place in Bournemouth, and there was an SEB depot there. It was subsequently used as a breakdown truck in Brackley, fitted with an unusual design of recovery crane which may in fact be locally designed.
WRU454K and WRU456K were presumably “brothers” of this one but are no longer on the road, presumably there were other vehicles in the sequence too. The vehicle still has part of the linked braking system used to provide air power to trailer brakes.
