ERX849K – This IIA 1-Ton is an ex Southern Electricity Board vehicle, and was built in light green and registered new in Reading. It had an hydraulic winch and a hard top.

Its is currently a bronze green full soft top and has been fitted with a Nissan 3.3 Litre engine and Nissan Patrol Gearbox. It has a Salisbury rear axle, extra fuel tank and many modifications for use by the electricity board.

This vehicle appears to be the first of a batch running in numbers ERX849K – ERX857K, all the rest are no longer on the road. This was a mixed batch of 1-Tons and SWB Series IIIs.

I have recently been contacted by a former owner of this vehicle who tells me it was by the late 1980s fitted with a 3.5 litre Rover V8 engine. It also had a factory fitted side opening rear door rather than the more expected catflap and tailgate.
